About Patrick kraft
~Introduction~
Hello!
My name is Patrick Kraft and it is wonderful to meet you! Before getting into my performance work, allow me to share some personal background and fun facts:
I'm from Oswego, NY, I'm 23 yeards old, I love to travel, I love to cook and bake, and I do a pretty convincing mouth trumpet.
As a performer, while specializing in opera, I have a wide range of experience across straight plays, musicals, and opera.
~Experienced Actor~
While at Hofstra, I began my tenure with acting training during my first two years. At this time I studied primarily under Neo-Futurist and renowned director Chris Dippel. I also developed movement and speech skills under Broadway Movement & Fight Coach Robert Westley and Dialect & Speech Professor Ilona Pierce. During my undergrad, I padded my education with a summer abroad studying at The Globe Theater in London under acclaimed Globe Player James Garnon.
This training allowed me to excell in roles such as Toby in Menotti's The Medium (2021) and The Captain in George Buchner's Woyzeck (2023).
~Undergraduate Vocal Study~
I began my operatic training studying under internationally acclaimed Mezzo-Sporano Tammy Hensrud. I sang my first role of Bill in Samuel Barber's A Hand of Bridge. Over the next year I developed my classical sound and showcased my work across recitals, concerts, and multilpe operas with the Hofstra Music Department. In my senior year , I performed the role of Guglielmo and presented a solo Senior Recital featuring works by Ravel, Schubert, and Sondheim.
Outside of Hofstra, I performed at the Queens Summer Vocal Institute. At QSVI, I sang Papageno in Die Zauberflóte and Bob in The Old Maid and The Thief. Originally covering the role of Papgeno, I was given the opportunity to perform the role.
~Graduate Vocal Study~
Currently I am in my second year of a Masters of Music in Classical Vocal Performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music (ACSM) at Queens College, where I study with Louis Burkot. Under Louis Burkot, I have worked tirelessly to grow my voice and master the nuances that different styles of classical music present.
During my graduate degree I have/will have studied a wide variety of new roles. Most notable are The Vicar in ACSM's award winning Britten's Albert Herring and Dandini in Rossini's Classical La Cenerentola. In my final semester I will perform both Harry Easter and Mr. Jones as well as cover Frank Murrant in Weill's Street Scene. This great variety of roles during my graduate education has greatly contributed in the flexibility of my voice to sing in many styles.
Outside of the ACSM, I made my european debut in Bad Gastein, Austria at the Music in the Alps festival as a Young Artist in August of 2024. Then in July of 2025, Figaro in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with Saluzzo Opera Academy in Saluzzo, Italy. Finally, in Early 2026 I will return to Hofstra University to sing The Count in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro as a Professional Alumni Guest Artist.
